Wash and WAX???????

Yep. Wash the little beast thoroughly once or twice a year and wax it up in the Spring. Usually hose it down, though, when things get so dusty you turn dust brown when you walk by the tractor.

Shortly after I got my truck my then three year old son decided to "draw" on it... with a rock /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

I was livid, but did the old "count to ten" and other calming excercises. He got a scolding then helped me rub the scratches out. Fortunately, a three year old can't push very hard on a rock. Aren't kids fun /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Awww, come on guys/gals, be honest now. The reason y'all wash/wax your tractors, is you let them get so dirty that they blended in with the surrounding scenery and you couldn't find them! /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Yup I wash it more regularly than my truck. I am planning on giving Blue its first wax job this spring some time before its first birthday. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif My wife laughs at me too /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif- but like everybody else I have too much $$ invested not to take care of it. Remember - a clean tractor is a happy tractor. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Well, I have to admit, I did wash and wax my old L175, kept it looking darn nice too, even though I did name it 'Grumpy'. No particular reason, just seemed to fit.

Yeah, Rob, but they sure can huck 'em! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

Several times now I have understimated the distance my own 3-year old sprout could chuck a stone. Also discovered that when he's aiming for the pond, standing right behind him ain't necessarily in the safety zone. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

hey jay,
waxing anything you own is a good idea. i waxed my bx2200 already. my buddy waxes his skid loaders and backhoes a few times a year. believe me, when you resell, the thing looks sooo much nicer if it is kept up with wax. also a hose job will take off alot of dirt and dust compared to non waxing. for the 12600 i paid for tractor FEL and mower, i coulda bought the neighbors 69 z28 with big block and narrowed rear. nice car and ya know i would be waxin it.

One nice thing about having a broken foot is that I now have plenty of time to crawl around over and under Clementine with my little can of McGuire's wax /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
