Re: watch out for AOL \"free trials\"

They could cut their rates in half if they quit mailing so many "free" CDs. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Re: watch out for AOL \"free trials\"

No, No Bird, they need to keep mailing the CDs.

I drill a hole in them and hang over my strawberry plants to scare the birds away. I have done this for several years, and seldom see a bird in the garden.

Just noticed I'm replying to Bird, and talking about scaring birds away. No offense meant to the TBN Bird.

Re: watch out for AOL \"free trials\"

Just curious but what ISP provider does everyone use?

Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: watch out for AOL \"free trials\"

I completely hate AOL--but---everyone I know and my family and my wifes friends and family and so on are all on AOL. Why, because some one got AOL and everyone else followed. Not only that my e-mail address for everything that I need to keep in touch with would have to be changed and that could present a problem.
I hate AOL but then I live out far enough I cannot have cable etc anyway so exactly what would I gain elsewhere other than less pop ups, better spam controls etc? J

Re: watch out for AOL \"free trials\"

I use AOL. Not because I particularly like it. Just that I started with it 10 years ago or so and never changed. I am also far enough out that I can't get cable or BB. Stuck with slow dial-up. Could go satellite, but don't want to pay that much. What does everyone else use in this situation?

Re: watch out for AOL \"free trials\"

Was AT&T Broadband, now Comcast. Love the cable modem. After being at work with T1 (or bigger who knows?) I couldn't deal with dial-up.

Re: watch out for AOL \"free trials\"

At home, I use this service (the pay version) netzero access The only annoying thing I've encountered is a "upgrade your phone list" feature (not all the time, it's sporadic). Compares your dial-in to their list of what they think is available in your area.

I'm using this:

http://www.intergate.com

It's $10/month for 200 hours, which is an average of over 6 hours a day. I'm never on line more that a hour or two a day.

Re: watch out for AOL \"free trials\"

Boy, I am feeling alot out numbered here.
I had AOL for Years along with my local ISP and switched to AOL solely, over a year ago when they brought in some local phone numbers.
I have had great luck with them. No real problems to speak of, every question or concern was handled promptly and to my satisfaction.
I pay my bill once a year so there is no credit card hassle to deal with. I can't think of anything negative to say, they have done alright by me.
