OK jd I hope you done gone to bed so you won't see this. i made the mistake of telling the wife i would like to have some beef stew, well i got some been eating it ever night sence wensday night i ask her tonight how much was left and she laughed. beef stwe and peanut butter sammich. i got to find her some smaller pots

....I just had a complete bloodwork profile done recently...my HDL cholesterol is a tad elevated at 41 (normal is 39) and my triglycerides are 165 which is also slightly elevated. Everything else is within normal ranges.

JD I was just looking through the Mediterranean diet study again and I could not believe what I saw. These people were on an awful diet and their blood work showed it.
For the Mediterranean Diet their cholesterol was above 330 and the control groups was above 320, Wow. both these diets were promoting heart disease.
The American Heart Assoc. says:
Total cholesterol:
Less than 200 mg/dL - Desirable blood cholesterol
200 to 239 mg/dL - Borderline-high blood cholesterol
240 mg/dL and over - High blood cholesterol

If you have heart disease the desirable cholesterol level is less than 150mg/dL with the LDL less than 70.

It was a shame that all of these people in Spain were subject to a cardiovascular event on these awful study diets. I can't believe the headlines the news media is putting on this study. Do any of them actually read the study????????

Wife and her mother had homemade chicken-bean-tomato chili tonight with homemade cornbread and I had my homemade tomato-vegetable soup with a small dish of whole wheat spagetti and homemade tomato based sauce. Zero oil, ultra low sodium (45 mg/ serving) and surprisingly good. Slice of cantalope and a banana later with a cup of tea. Oh, yeah, maybe 3 ounces of a good chianti with supper.

Five dogs watched me eat every bit so I felt bad and they got two small sized miklbones each.

Milkbones are better than chili for large dogs. Best not to feed a large dog anything that has beans in it if you keep them in the house. Very bad idea.

Since dogs get no people food I asked my wife if she could take a day and bake some dog bones for them. She explained the volume needed for six dogs and then politely explained what I could do with that idea and her "where the sun don't shine" theorum.
