I was walking across the yard this morning and about 10 feet in front of me was a Roadrunner attacking a snake. He was so intent on dinner that I dont think he even noticed me. He would grab the snake about mid point and slam it on the ground 2 or 3 times. Then let it go to see if it moved. Grab it again and repeat numerous times. Now, this was a small 12 to 15 inch Rosy Boa or Red Racer (based on its color), but I have heard they will do rattlesnakes.
I was so intrigued that by the time I got my phone out to video he disappeared into a creosote bush and I could not see him any more. About 10 minutes later I saw him come out of the bush with a smile on his face
