I think the earth will take care of itself, we are just along for the ride.

One of my favorite green quotes turns out to be an anti-green statement, but either way it fits perfectly into the whole debate, no matter which position you take.

The planet has been through a lot worse than us. Been through earthquakes, volcanoes, plate tectonics, continental drift, solar flares, sun spots, magnetic storms, the magnetic reversal of the poles … hundreds of thousands of years of bombardment by comets and asteroids and meteors, worldwide floods, tidal waves, worldwide fires, erosion, cosmic rays, recurring ice ages … And we think some plastic bags and some aluminum cans are going to make a difference? The planet isn’t going anywhere. WE are!

We’re going away. Pack your ****, folks. We’re going away. And we won’t leave much of a trace, either. Maybe a little Styrofoam … The planet’ll be here and we’ll be long gone. Just another failed mutation. Just another closed-end biological mistake. An evolutionary cul-de-sac. The planet’ll shake us off like a bad case of fleas.

The planet will be here for a long, long, LONG time after we’re gone, and it will heal itself, it will cleanse itself, ’cause that’s what it does. It’s a self-correcting system. The air and the water will recover, the earth will be renewed.

My position is clear (to me) It does not matter what people do, we will have no long lasting effects upon the earth. The sun controls the climate...end of story.

We are in a drought now, hasnt rained since last Sunday. This is udder madness. All I want is for it to rain gently every Sunday and Thursday night. Then it needs to be sunny and 70 to 75 degrees the rest of the time.

I agree except when it's time to cut the hay, then, no rain for two weeks.

After the hay is put up resume rain schedule. While we're at it, have gravity pull the rocks back down into the ground a minimum of 3 feet.:tractor:

NOW you're talking! That can include the one that I hit while tilling yesterday... I knew that it was big when the windows started rattling in the house 100 feet away.
