I don't care what Gore or other celeb's are doing, or not doing. I'm going to live my life the way I chose to. There are a billion Chinese and a billion Indian's that could care less what they are doing to the planet. I'm one man; Swimming up river gets old...

so you are converting to one of us sinners Steppy?

I count 5 "burners" on your profile!
Dang you have fully embraced the deniers!

Me too. Less government, less regulation preserves our freedoms.

Show where this side has lied about it please?

Here is what a quick search shows regarding my point.....

Climate change: this is the worst scientific scandal of our generation - Telegraph

Prior to reading your attached article I did a quick search on the author. He's not a Scientist. He also doesn't believe smoking, asbestos or BSE are dangerous. That's the guy you're betting the world on?

Yes, I'm still a part of the problem but I'm less a part of the problem today than I was yesterday. I'm aiming to let that trend continue.

When 'green' energy is as economical as fossil fuel energies, then you can bet the oil companies will be leaders there as well.

Thanks turnkey.... but I don't think these guys want to hear about any real science.

Real science? how about history?

Medieval Warm Period - an overview | ScienceDirect Topics

The temperature went up so much, excess food being available, caused the population to dramatically increase,,,

So, there is no chance we are in a similar anomaly??

That warm period that occurred 1,100 years ago,, looks to have lasted 10 times as long as the one we are having now,,

Oh, yea,, the earth is slightly over 2,000 years old,, we have no history to look at for other periods,,,

... but I don't think you guys want to hear about any real science.

Oh, you're wrong... I fully believe there is global warming, and that it poses a great threat to all of us. But... the planet Earth has been here many times before and I'm not going to stop anything. I'm an amateur ancient history buff, and guess what? Nothing lasts forever. So, I live my life, do my best, and I don't wring my hands over what's gonna happen in 50 years. One of the reasons we moved to the Blue Ridge mountains 6 years ago was so we wouldn't be near the cities when the pooh hits the fan...

Politics and Subsidies to build the wind/solar farms I have a hunch... not to mention some good PR for Exxon.

Little of each i suspect-

Possible solar is getting cheap enough to actually make it cost competitive.?

Depends where. And as the solar technology improves, the older systems don’t compete as well, thus screwing up your ROI.

It absolutely is getting cheap enough to compete, especially in the southwest. Many many large scale installations underway, and recently completed. In the mid west, wind turbines are now price competitive as well.

I seen a documentary a couple years ago. Their point was that the data from both sides is manipulated to make their points. Personally I do think that happens more than anyone would like to admit. So how can anyone make an informed decision on the subject when the data can't be trusted?

I think the earth will take care of itself, we are just along for the ride. When mankind can control the global effects of volcanoes and natural decay then I'll start listening to the 'save the planet" hype. Until then, I say tractor on!:tractor:

We’ve gone from <1 billion to over 7 billion people in just over a century, and the population is rising exponentially. To think that we don’t have an impact is ludicrous; yet none of the CC crowd ever mentions that, they are too intent on their no IC engine agenda.
I once read a short sci-fi story from nineteen forty something about pollution and how we were running out of oil so neither is a new topic.

I looked into getting the Tesla solar panels and battery about a month ago. Idaho does not let Tesla install their systems in the state.

I’m part of the problem. I recently bought a zero turn mower. The diesel models were around $24k, so I went with gas. In the first three hours of mowing, it burned through more than five gallons of gas.

I got spoiled with my diesel SCUT. It would run all day on five gallons of fuel.
