Two of the towns are major centres with hospitals and all services, Melbourne is about 150km away so an easy drive or take the express train and relax, sounds similar to where you are with different accents, the neighbours seem friendly enough but haven't had a chance to meet too many yet.

30,000 litres which sounds impressive but is not a lot when you have animals, there is a dam but it doesn't hold a lot, no mains water nearby, no phone line, no gas, on the plus side the power is underground somewhere which I hope I won't find with the ripper.
Need a couple of 15a power points so I can run the MIG.
We are about 5km from the nearest main road and about 17km from Traralgon, 15km Rosedale and 40km to Sale, happy to be 'remote' but not far from anything.
Congratulations on the move!

Yes, we have about the same water storage, and I wish it was three times that for fire fighting reasons. I wish I could get a bore done for that price.

How deep is underground power in your area? Or put differently, how deep is your ripper?

All the best,

Peter

Here's hoping your neighbors are half as good as you will be!!!

Power is supposed to be 600mm, ripper is 450mm, that magic word 'supposed' is what worries me and not knowing exactly where it is.
Bore water is about 100m, further inland you can find it at about 20m.
I intend ripping the grassed area alongside the driveway to plant an avenue of trees, a good loosen up will let the tap root get established quicker, after that putting in about 35mm poly to get water to the horse troughs and bury some double insulated 5mm electric fence wire from the energiser to the fences.

Gives you a new lease on life doesn't it! You sound about 10 years younger! LOL That's what I need right now.
Bit shocked at the cost of fencing but I suppose it is horse fences?

Fences are four strand, top two are wire bottom two bayco plastic sight wire so the idiots don't amputate their legs if they get hung up, we have created 7 x 2acre paddocks and an arena all with electric on the top as well, a couple of tandem trailers full of posts, took the contractor just over a week to put it in.
