Today my wife had to run the the veterinary to pick up a prescription for one of our dogs that had run out of medication. While she was talking to the gal at the vets they told her that a family from Akron had found two baby ducks swimming in their in-ground pool when they went out for a swim.

They quickly scooped the small ducks out of the treated pool water and placed them in a shallow cardboard box hoping that the mother duck might return to claim her young. That never happened and since the family has 2 cats themselves they were looking for a safe home for the baby ducks.

My wife called & picked the ducks up just today and hopes to place them with a mother duck that visits our pond daily. The mother duck that frequents our pond currently has 7 of her own peeps all about the same size as the 2 we adopted today. When momma duck visits our feeder next to our home full of cracked corn Rose, my wife hopes to sneak the 2 peeps into her own brood.

Somehow reading between the lines I think they will be here until they are mature enough to fly on their own. It's really no big deal as our dogs don't give a hoot and we have been down this same road before. See attachment for ducks.

Question: Does 2 baby ducks in a box constitute a "box of quackers"?
