On the website that I moderate, we allow the manufacturer to have mod powers in their forum. They can delete any post they don't like. It is the only way we get any involvement by manufacturers and we still only get about 30% participation. They don't check in very often. It doesn't work as well as one would hope.

I would only imagine that would be troll city capital in no time flat

I've never seen a factory rep participate on forums such as this (tractor, motorcycle, car). I believe the reason for this is they have no control over the content. Another thing is, the manufacturers want you to take up issues with the dealer. I believe the dealers would be up in arms if they found the manufacturer giving out free advice on line.

I understand that LS has a Facebook page, but I've never checked it out since I'm not a FB user. Don't know if they provide anything more than marketing info.

Happens all the time over on Reddit. Not so much for tractors, but for lots of other things.

It's getting much more common for companies to have someone who monitors major platforms.

Any company with an ounce of common sense will be monitoring forums where their products are discussed. They may not deal with issues on line, but they do not want to be ignorant of what customers are saying, and more importantly, what potentially future customers are seeing about how their products work and the degree of customer service they can expect.


BTW, I am surprised at how few horror stories we see on this forum about new tractors. There are some but not many. Not sure if tractor owners are a talented bunch and fix small glitches themselves, or we accept a few problems, or the dealers in general do a good job.

Have spoken with my factory rep many times ...very helpful ....contacted mine through North Carolina assembly plant...
