So, I have ran into a roadblock with attaching a gage. I was going to attach the gage to the port on the back of the control valve where the hose goes to the cylinder. This is a Ford 723 hoe, so it has the weird Ford O-Ring port hose fittings. I can get an adapter with a Male Ford O-ring port to Male 5/8" JIC. See link: 41157-10-10 | 5/8" JIC Male x 7/8-14 Ford O-Ring Port Male . Problem is, I think i need a FEMALE Ford O-Ring port (to ANY other standard hose fitting) to make this work without changing my hose end. I need some kind of fitting to screw my hose into. Does anybody know of a way to do this? Did I explain it well enough?

Seth I don't know if this will help but at one time I had a John Deere 410 Backhoe it would start and dig great for a wile but would start to loose power. I had changed pumps filters fluid and everything chasing the problem just when I gave up on it and sold it to a friend it blew a hydraulic line to the boom I changed that hose and one other and it ended the problem. After spending lots on chasing it was as simple as a bad hose that was collapsing inside restricting flow.

I've saw that too. Replaced a disc brake caliper before discovering that was the cause also. :(

So, I can稚 find any female o-ring port adapters. Does it matter where I put the gauge? I have changed some hoses out to JIC, so I can put the gauge on those locations.

You can put a gauge where ever you can pressurize and monitor.

But I have a hard time believing an adapter cannot be sourced.

As I said, a picture is worth a thousand words

Can you use 2 of the fittings and a JC Tee?

Not sure from an I phone. And dont know if you are using mobile site or app.

From a desktop (or on my android but not viewing as mobile version) click the picture icon at the top of the reply box. Then find the pic on your phone and upload it.

upload tbn.PNG

How do I attach a picture from an iPhone?

My phone won’t let me post a screenshot otherwise I’d offer a coloured on screenshot. The icon is at the bottom of the page not top.

My hoses on the vale have ends like side 2 in the attached picture. So, I need some kind of female adapter to connect to the gauge.

When I bought my Ford 420 industrial backhoe I was having similar problems, It turned out to be the suckshun hose collapsing It was long so I replaced it with exhaust pipe that I had a muffler shop bend and a couple short pieces of the correct hose. also , for your fitting problem , can you drill and tap for a small fitting in the flat on that fitting? I don't know how big it is, so that might not be possible. Good luck .

Ok, so I finally got a pressure gauge and some fittings to put the gauge in the curl circuit. When the tractor is cold, I get about 1800psi max. I used the loader quite a bit on Saturday, when hot the pressure was about 1200psi. It was all it could do to pick up a 1000lb hay bale. I feel like the pump is wore out. What do y誕ll think?

Just wanted to provide an update to this. I purchased a used pump for the tractor and now I知 good to go! It makes 2000 psi all the time. The machine is much easier to use and I don稚 have to run as many RPM to use.

Excellent, glad it worked out.
