Same thing here. Worked in & out of garage on a customers riding mower. Warm 70 deg. but windy. Then about 5:00 all heck broke loose. Wind, rain, falling temps. Blew over my daughters basketball hoop. Had the rope in hand to go out & tie it down & thar she goes. Looks like a little straightening work is ahead of me--again./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

<font color=blue>"Yep..just wait a minute..if you don't like the weather it shall change."</font color=blue>

Rained heavy during the nite. Skies are clear blue right now. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Thomas, got those high winds over here too. Power went out for about an hour and a half this mornin'. Happened right after the coffee maker finished brewing. /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

Had to fire up the wood stove and tranfer the full pot over to the top of the stove to keep it hot. /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

It was 62 degrees at 8:00 am in South Bend, IN on Saturday. By the time I went to dinner it was under 30. This morning it is 15.

We used to have a dog that would get into the bathtub during storms. The only way we found out he was in there was that the other dog was standing in the bathroom with her head behind the shower curtain. We pulled the curtain aside and she was looking at the other dog standing in the tub. He would stand there facing the faucet with his eyes closed. Poor thing.

Hit us yesterday. It was in the 50's and raining at noon. At 4:00 the snow was coming down. This morning visibilty was under 1/8 mile and the weatherman was using the "Blizzard" word. Not much new snow though. Only about 1 inch. Sun seems to be trying to come out now.

Funny thing, one of the residents at the local prison decided to jump the wall this morning about 5:00. By 9:00 they'd found him. Wearing only a T-shirt and blue jeans, he was wading up the river to avoid the dogs and beeding profusely from ice cuts. Don't look like the tools in that shed are too sharp. Lucky they found him, he'd probably have been frozen to death by noon.

I read a news report about a fugitive in New England (forget which state) who is suing the local sheriff for not finding him fast enough! Seems he escaped recently, wasn't found for 3 days and had to have toes amputated.

Thomas,

I am not exagerating when I say that we have had a thousand Canada Geese fly over at numerous intervals yesterday. It was truly an awesome spectacle.

My guess is that they head here first because Lake Ontario maintains its warmer temperature throughout the Winter.

Friday evening was like summertime. We could hear the frogs croaking and the Geese honking.

I can't seem to get this picture posting. Here's the shot I intended.

On another matter, how does one delete a message?

Thnx,

Yup, thats what he does. Hes getting old now, and is a little deaf, so the storm has to be REAL bad to bother him. Oh, and the winds still ripping today. Lost the car cover on my convertible late this morning./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif I did find it, and was OK so I'm happy.

Looks like your getting a early start bucking up firewood for this coming winter.
Your NH TC33D shouldn't have a problem removing the stump, and maybe a chipper might come in handy after this wind storm.

Thomas,
I'm guessing that I have 12-15 cords of wood to cut up from all the trees that we took out. I cut the tops off, cut the stumps off & we stacked them in a couple of big piles out of the way. The trees are tal & straight with all the branchs toward the very top so alot of good wood to cut. I may try to make some fence post from the locust trees. I hope to work on that while the house is built. I better sharpen the chainsaw chain (trusty Stihl 029). Yes Baby Blue will drag that away when it drys a little or may just grab it with the hoe while it is there.../w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

David and Paul, I have a 14 yr old chow that used to hide in the tub or wake us up every time it would storm. The vet said it was anxiety and recomended a sedative(we call it puppy prozac). This works really well , we give it to her and about 15 mins later she just goes back to sleep. Be careful on dosage the script we recieved said 1-2 pills. We started with one and the dog was "stoned", she now takes 1/3 of a tablet. cheap relief for weary people
