DFB and Thomas, We just caught the tail end of the front that is moving eastward. Today, behind the front, We got up to 80, lots of sunshine. Right now it's still balmy enough that I have the front door open to get a little fresh air. They say by Monday the cooler wet weather will be back.

I only got a little over a tenth of an inch of rain from that little fast moving storm yesterday afternoon, but sure do have lots of small limbs to pick up out of the yard today. I was out in the shop and thought the roof might blow off for a minute or two; however, I don't see any damage. But two houses within 500 yards of my house lost the shingles from their roofs and one lost the roof from his hay storage pole barn. Most of the serious damage was Dallas/Ft. Worth and north; TV news said winds of 77 mph at D/FW airport.

That must have been nice to feel the 80's,for it should be about another three an half months before those temps make it up here,but than again w/all this crazy weather who knows.

16 degrees and the snow has mostly switch to sleet,and the weather station calling for freezing rain to rain than back to snow, /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gifshould make for and interesting evening also Monday morning.

Bird, we caught a nasty little storm last night also, did some damage in little rock. I was glad to see the front move into tennesse and leave Arkansas. I split some more wood today, nice and warm, had to take off my coat. The robins were singing, the frogs were croaking, and the grass just getting greener. about 100 snow geese flew over and sort of looked over my little pond, decided it wasn't big enough for all so they turned east and flew on.

Thomas, Yea, I know of a few anxious folks who are getting the soil ready, but a blue norther in late march is not uncommon. A lot of tomato plants set out too early have bit the dust by a late freeze. Like Yogi use to say " it ain't over til it's over".

Thomas, I almost hate to do this, but, I just got back from the Cayman Islands yesterday and it was 85. (Birthday/Valentine's day for the Mrs.) Sure was nice. Here in N. Georgia we are seeing mid 60's and the trees are budding.

That's too hot, Mark. Right here at home today it got to 75, but foggy, misty, occasional light showers, ground already saturated, road under water at the creek below my house for 2 weeks, flash flood warnings in effect, supposed to get back down in the 30s tonight, and the weatherman says the real rain will be over the next 4 to 5 days./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif Enough to make a grown man cry./w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif
