Weird electrical fault.

I had an electrical fault on my Kubota. I was running it in a field and someone walked out to talk to me. I shut it down for safety and convenience (noise) and when they left it wouldn't start or even try to start. I was brush hogging and a stick managed to find its way to the connections on the starter and cause a problem. I found it and pulled the stick out and replugged the wire/connector back on.

Later I had intermittent problems with starting due to, I thought, an intermittent key switch. I bought a new switch but after taking the other one out of the mounting hole everything worked perfectly for nearly a year (with it dangling there) so I didn't install the new switch. Eventually the problem returned and I traced it to an in-line fuse. The switch was never the problem, just some coincidences made it look that way. Now I have a new spare key switch.

One of these days I'll stick the switch back into its mounting hole.

Always find it amazing that where I live I can drive two hours time and go from a rain forest at 80" of precip to 6" of precip. Twisp is a great place to still buy in Washington. About $80-200 a square foot average.

But no tornados. They get about 25" of precip in a year, but hoh rainforest gets 125" plus. Great place to visit but living there would require webbed feet. 1000 year old Douglas fir trees are amazing for sure. Seen plenty of the redwoods but the ancient Douglas firs are really amazing.

A number of Alaska retirees have "discovered" Squim! They couldn't be happier!! Ocean, trees, fishing and a very mild climate - drier than much of Alaska.
