Here is what caused the lose of oil. A branch ripped the oil pressure gauge from the rubber hose. BIL took the fitting out of the block (probably a 1/8" pipe thread) and put in this 5/16 or 3/8" bolt. He didn't check for leaks but it was probably a slow one as he said it ran for another 90 minutes. You can see the bolt sticking out of the block just below the filters. Could be worse...it's only a 3 cylinder.

Last one, this is what no air filtration and overheating combined can do. Funny I was still able to drive the dozer to my house (total 1 mile), and push up a garage pad (about 45 minutes) with the piston as you see it. Main reason I posted this picture is of you look on the muffler on the left, you can see the rusted, upsidedown U shaped thing with the piece of all thread running down the middle. This is my cobbled up liner puller. Ain't pretty but it's worked on 2 engines so far!!

Eddie, thought you might enjoy this little story. I was showing the wife some of your photos and telling her how much I admired you for taking on the engine rebuild. She said that if I had tried that we would have a new planter in the yard that was way too large for her landscape plan.

I’d have gotten mad if she wasn’t so right. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Start?????

Your joking right??? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm likeing the idea of landscaping around it now and making it the focal point of my garden!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'm afraid to start it. What if I did something even dumber than not adjust the valves right??? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

But seriously, it's raining today, so I'm haveing a little delay on finishing it up. Just need the intake, exhaust and oil pan to finish it off and add fluids.

Sounds easy enough, but you never know with those gremlins running about!! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
