Welded up some bracketts for a rake

Anytime, don't get me wrong, Ive seen (so called) Journeymen pipe welders do worse then that on a mig. those are ample and im sure they will hold up for your purpose.

I agree that it looks stout enough and that the OP did a nice job. The forces on the cylinder while in a fixed position are just as important as when the cylinder is being adjusted. I simply meant that where practical setting up the cylinder at a 45 degree angle from the pivot pin is adviseable.

Understood, And it looks like that's what you would have to do to get more angle in each direction? (if you needed it)
