Before you do all this, what is the gpm rating of that pump. Remember, your well is refreshed at 6 gpm and you don't want to pump above that or you run the risk of emptying the well...just sayin'
I thought the idea is that a lower volume pump would not out-strip the inflow/recharge to the well. No, it's not more water, it should be more consistent water at the user end of things.
A smaller pump might be a little healthier for the well, but it really comes down to the fact that neither pump pumps more than you use. ... One will just run longer to do it The sudden problems going to a larger pump are either due to increased water use or raising the pump in the well or both. These are OP controllable issues. They have virtually nothing to do with the pump.:thumbsup: Agree fully. Not more water but properly sized pump won't pump the well "dry" within a few min. Not as hard on the pump IMO.
