( Just curious, you said the well produces 17GPM )

That's from the data provided when the well was drilled back in 1989.

Polecat: My wife said she didn't want me drinking beer out there if I was going to be hunting down trespassers -- she wanted to make sure I had a level head if I had to confront them. I couldn't argue that point.

I know there are a few of you guys that think Polecat is nothing but some country bumpkin but let me tell you, he is not what he appears to be -- he is truely a person that wants to help his fellow man.

We have been PM'ing back and forth and I thought I'd share a few excerpts showing this desire to help. I hope he doesn't mind me sharing:

I am very excited about the fact that u r gonna have more water than u can deal with..( THIS STRING WILL HELP SO MANY TBNER'S FIX THEIR PROBLEMS IT'S NOT EVEN IMAGINEABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I CAN'T tell u how many how many of my friends here locally and in other states have jist (not knowingly blown $$$$1000's of dollars to jist git their shower's n siks runnin).......!!!!!!!!!!!

AS OF YET U AND NO ONE ON TBN KNOW HOW MUCH I FEEL ABOUT THE CAUSE/MISSION THAT U HAVE INSTILLED IN ME TO GO DOWN A NO HOLDS/BARRED ROAD ON!!!!!!!!!

And i say this with all of the indebtedness that I feel towards the other members of our "so called community" adn become part of the belief that u & I can sincerely change humanity/politics/ and the well's and the lives of everyone that u come in contact with in your whole spectrum of friends/dealings/aquaintances/ as well as thowe that u don't even really know .....in person!!!!

SHOW ME A MAN ...SHOW ME HIS DESIRES AND LONGINGS , SHOW ME A MAN WITH THE DESIRE NOTONLY TO HELP HIMSELF BUT ALL!!!! OTHERS ROUND HIM AND I'LL SHOW U A FRIEND!!!!!!

Gatorboy:

Anyone with the desire and energy required to provide the data Polecat and yourself are compiling are to be commended.

Will you be moving the generator back forth?

Is this well completion a temporary or permanent project? I/e will it only be used for drip irrigation for trees during summer months?

Just curious. Always curious.

Re: WELL DONE!!! FER ALL TBNER\'S AND BETWEEN GATOR BOY

Here is a brief history on my property:

I purchased my property in January of 2001 with the intention of building a house within 2 years of purchase. However, with the decline of the stock market, my plans have been put on hold.

So, in the interim, I am playing around with the idea of growing trees to be sold wholesale.

I am in the experimentation stage and am going to grow trees using the Rootmaker system.

This spring I currently have 7 Rootmaker trays of 32-cells growing trees from seed at my house. I have Silver Maple, Green Ash, and Black Walnut. These will stay in these trays until around July 1, when I will transplant them into 5" knit bags place in cinder blocks. The trays and bags have holes in them to allow air pruning which causes more roots to be generated.

Then, in the fall, these 5" knit bagged trees will be transplanted into the ground into a 14" knit bag. This size bag will be the correct size to grow trees up to 2" in caliper. The beauty of this system is that it creates trees with excellent roots and also the ability to harvest without losing most of the roots that happen when using a tree spade.

I will need water to spray the trees in the cinder blocks and also to later water the trees that are in the ground using drip line. This is why my need to get a well pump installed using a generator.

I will keep my generator in my 20' storage container, and haul it out when I need to do watering.

Do you think that Polecat's 'country bumpkin' writing style affectation might have something to do with this misimpression? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Maybe, but I have spent time listening to the words and I got the same feeling Gatorboy did.

Polecat's writing definitely revives the old saw about judging a book by it's cover. One or two posts and it is real easy to make a judgement about a poster based on how YOU read it. I give further examples of Nomad and Chechnya This is even possible when someone has posted a couple thousand times.

Two examples,

Bird: obviously salt of the earth. Never read a harsh word in his posts.

Junkman: Salty old man of the earth. Harsh words abound.

Is either man truly like that? I may never know. Does it matter? Not if you really read each one of their posts, 99 times out of a hundred they are loaded with info and that is the important part. I believe Polecat is the same way.

To me, this is one of the most enjoyable parts of TBN. trying to get to know people based on nothing more than how and what they write about something that we share an interest in. In this case, a well, but overall, Tractors.

Just my 2 centavos

Re: WELL DONE!!! FER ALL TBNER\'S AND BETWEEN GATOR BOY

Dave ... please know I'm NOT trying to be an alarmist. Up here in NY state and a large portion of New England .. we are living out the nightmare of an ash blight - a fungal one. Our ash here is mostly black, mountain and white. I'm uninformed about green ash though. I would check into this at the early stages of your investment though.

Thought you'd like to know.

Man, that ash is the greatest firewood on earth. Hard, splits OK and burns hot and long.

Re: WELL DONE!!! FER ALL TBNER\'S AND BETWEEN GATOR BOY

Green ash is the most prevelant trees on my property -- I harvested seeds from these trees.

If this blight gets down to me, I'll be in trouble.

I hope it doesn't hit my Maryland Champion White Ash.

Re: WELL DONE!!! FER ALL TBNER\'S AND BETWEEN GATOR BOY

I'd give the Dept. of Natural Resources a call or some other confounded FED office just to be on the safe side.

One thing I've learned, when it comes to trees, everybody's an expert.
