Farm Pro 2420
Finally, after all the searching I went and bought a Farm Pro 2420 with a bushhog and a box blade. It's the 3 cyl with the 2 year parts and labor warranty. Paid $6100 delivered to my house. It looks like it will be a nice tractor. The dealer wouldn't budge much at all but it IS a lot of "iron" for the money. Pretty expensive lawn mower!

I want to thank you all for the time and invaluable advice!

Something must be wrong with my specs. It shows the 2420 as a two cylinder engine.

Depends upon the dealer/broker/importer. It can be (or used to be) ordered from China with either a duece or the three banger.

They no longer make or put the 2-cylinder in the Jinma Tractors. There are alot of them out there, parts may be a issue as we cannot get many 2-cyl.parts anymore.

Hey Joe,

Congratulations Joe, and be sure to check all fluid levels and that everything is greased properly.

I also noticed that Chris/SoundGuy, is also very interested. Sounds like he may be getting ready to purchase a Chinese Tractor as well. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You will be happy with the tractor . I have a jm 224 same tractor as yours. Take some time and read all of the listings on lubricants. The only problem that I have had is with ignition switch. I followed the instructions on John's web page and have not had any other trouble. Robby

What is this "Johns web page" of which you speak?

Well, read the manuals, at least I "tried" to read them. Anyone have a good translation? Especially break-in. There was a chart and it looks like it's either loaded OR unloaded or BOTH and then you change the filters/fluids. Gotta love these foreign owners manuals.

Also, I REALLY put diesel into the gearbox to flush it?

And what is this talk about letting the diesel sit for 48 hours and straining it? This is in a foreign country only right?

I'll double check the fluids and grease points before I take it for a spin around the neighborhood.

This is my first tractor and diesel engine...please be patient...
