Tractor
Kubota L3130HST w/LA723 loader
Yesterday I placed my order for a L3130 HST. Before everyone asks, the price breaks down like this:

L3130HST-F with R4s $14,425.00
LA723 with Quick Attach,
66" HD Bucket and bolt on edge $ 4,424.00
3 Remote Hydraulic Valves $ 1,375.00

Estimated delivery date is the end of June.

I also ordered an ATI Grapple Kit and a Hy-Reach Clipper tree
shear to be installed on the tractor.

Traded in both of my current tractors, total price with trade-ins was $20,450.00. I think that I got a good deal. I will continue to use my 4' RFM for a while although it will be clumsy. I may switch over to an old 6' Modern shredder that I have but have not used in a while (if I can restore it).

I started out looking at a B7800 buy moved to the B2910 to get some creature comforts. Then realized that the L3130 was not very much more costly and better able to handle what I planned to do with the tractor.

I will post more later but meantime I am memorizing the operator manuals. Its primarily the loader manual since I have not really spent much time with one.

Vernon,

Congratulations on the tractor. I know what you are going thru.

Did you figure out a way to get a discount on that clipper? I want to buy one but there is no dealer in Indiana so they want full list price, factory direct, plus freight. I'm stubborn.

The price I got was a small discount but I got what I wanted in the installation and the price for the remote valves. It was a first for the dealer but they went ahead and bought the minimuim two figuring that they had enough potential customers that they will sell a few. I should have asked for a finder's fee.

Any way they will bring two circuits forward with disconnects at the front edge of the operator's platform and then disconnects at the front of the loader boom. This will make it esay to switch around.

As a b2910 owner on 3.7 acres, and proud of it, I think you did the right thing and that you will be glad you bought what you did the more you use it! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

congratulation on the tractor. I looked at the L-series but could not swing the boss into the extra $$$.

Congrads. I could have wrote your post myself. I was in a very similar situation.

I got a L3130, with a LA513 loader, QA 66" bucket and toothbar for an even $19000.

I used exactly the same purchasing logic. Started out with a B7800, then B2910 then settled on a L3130.

I have 70 hours on it now and it is perfect for what Im doing.
Driveway work, a few small tree removal, some dirt work, pasture mowing, box blade work, mulch, moving my junk around the yard.

Vernon, you'll love the L3130.

Congrads! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Everyone - Thanks for the good words. After fighting with my old machines I am really looking forward to getting this machine. My wife talked about it a lot but we realized with the physical problems I am beginning to have, this probably the only way I can keep up with the upkeep on this place.

She doesn't read this site so I can admit that I bought a digital camera just so I can take pictures.

Vernon,

Thanks for the reply.

Are all three of youir valves at the rear of the tractor and then one goes to the loader via rubber hose, and one goes to the operator platform via rubber hose? What will you do with hydraulics at the operator platform?

By the way, someone on this board mentioned that if you have a tree shear, you better have a brush grapple to keep up!

Yes, all three valve outlets are mounted at the rear. I went with three since the delta cost was marginal compared to the convinence. I plan on reserving the first valve for a hydraulic top link, the other two will be taken forward for loader attachments. The disconnects at the front of the operators platform for convinence when removing the FEL. That part of the plumbing will be by hoses plugged into the valves on the rear. There will be two sets of hoses carried forward on the loader boom. If I later decide to get a tilt link I could unplug one circuit at the back temporarily. There will be two sets of disconnects at the front of the boom for the shear cut and rotate functions. I decided not to use an electric diverter valve because I think it just adds complications and I am sure to lose track and operate the wrong function at the wrong time.

The tree shear is on a skid steer type of mount. I will also have a grapple mounted on the bucket and there will be an available circuit for it when necessary. I will post pictures of all of this when I get time but that won't be until the last week of July. We are part of the team that puts on what is probably the largest dog show in the US, July 15-18. We are in a 700,000 sq.ft building in Houston and I do all of the show layout and we ent all 300 vendor booths for the show.

I will probably only have time for a drive around and check out on the tractor before the show.

I hope that the arrangement was clear for the hydraulics.
