Very nice work. We have almost the same situation.

The old home place where my wife's dad grew up is over 100 years old. With the same type well just off the side of the house. The house is still standing and is is poor condition but should stand for many more years. One of the old chimneys was torn down and we are using the rock to build a wall at our house. The rock is the same as you have. We also had some large granite spets we have used for our entrance with several more to haul.

We are trying to use as much of the home place as possible to keep the memories alive.

I'd like to research how those old-timers cut that rock. Ours was definitely shaped somehow even though it was crudely done with different shapes and sizes. It looks to have been taken by a creek that goes down the middle of our property. We destroyed a drill bit drilling into the rock putting in the posts.
