BX23 TLB
After 3 years of researching, mulling, and planning I finally got a new BX23 a couple of weeks ago. Been to busy to post. I got the 60" deck, front snowblower, bushhog tiller, worksaver PHD, rear wheel weights, and (thanks to TBN) 3 hooks welded on the front bucket , one hook on the bh, 2 worklights, and the heavy duty alternator.

It's been great. Apart from beating the heck out of the small trees on the property with the folded down ROPS, no major incidents. That is, until this week. I ran over one of the dog's toys--a kong, while mowing. It must have caused the blade to spin at an angle just enough to have it contact the lip on the underside of the deck. Horrible sound. It bent the lip up and chewed it up pretty good. The blade on the right side could no longer spin. So much for my pristine new tractor. A couple of hours bending it back with vice grips got me up and running. Appears to be ok. Just frustrating. I'll do a nicer repair job over the winter when the deck is off.

Congrats on your new machine!!! If you're like most of us BX owners, life just gets better every hour we run 'em!!!
Cheers!

Congrats on the new tractor.

I had a similar experience running over something, although luckily it did no damage. You know those plastic water diverters that you put under the downspout from your gutters to carry the water out away from your house? I ran over one with my 60" MMM and the blade dug right into the plastic as it was sucked up into the MMM.
It jammed so hard, that it killed the engine on the tractor, which was running at almost full throttle. The thing that impressed me is that the belt on the MMM never slipped! If this had been my old craftsman riding lawn mower, the belt would have been squealing and probably snapped the belt. The 'ole kubota said nope, I'm not gonna let that belt slip, I'm gonna hang on. I removed the chunk of plastic, started back up, and kept on mowing!

Congratulations on your new tractor - sounds like you got all the accessories you will need to keep you busy during the warm weather and the cold. I have had mine since last year and have about 320 hours on it now. I do all sorts of things with the tractor I would have been doing by hand before. Out of curiosity (on my part) could you post the serial number of your tractor? I put a post up a few days back because I was trying to figure out how many BX tractors get sold - the SN# on my tractor is 60951 - knowing yours would be a good measure of how many of these have hit the field.

Maybe I'm overly paranoid, but I would be hesitant to post my serial number for fear of it being used in identity theft. Hello Kubota, this is Jim Wilson, yes I'd like a new loan, yes I'm already a customer, my serial number is ...

One of the first things I did was trim off all the low hanging branches to where the unfolded ROPS will clear them.
