After 3 years of researching, mulling, and planning I finally got a new BX23 a couple of weeks ago. Been to busy to post. I got the 60" deck, front snowblower, bushhog tiller, worksaver PHD, rear wheel weights, and (thanks to TBN) 3 hooks welded on the front bucket , one hook on the bh, 2 worklights, and the heavy duty alternator.
It's been great. Apart from beating the heck out of the small trees on the property with the folded down ROPS, no major incidents. That is, until this week. I ran over one of the dog's toys--a kong, while mowing. It must have caused the blade to spin at an angle just enough to have it contact the lip on the underside of the deck. Horrible sound. It bent the lip up and chewed it up pretty good. The blade on the right side could no longer spin. So much for my pristine new tractor. A couple of hours bending it back with vice grips got me up and running. Appears to be ok. Just frustrating. I'll do a nicer repair job over the winter when the deck is off.
