Today 63 till end of the year.
I hope I can retire by the time I am 63! Even though I also hope to be one of those guys that is busier in retirement than I was before retirement. I played a lot in my younger years (I call it my pre-tirement) and wasn't the smartest with investing/saving though so who knows. Regardless, welcome to the best part!!!

When you say, "I don't know how I ever had time to work" you are almost there.

A lot of people tell me when I retire I'm sleeping late every morning. Well that doesn't work for me, if I'm not up by 7am I have overslept.

The fact you have a large playground will give you lot's of options, just be careful out there.

I retired in 2003 and never looked back, we bought an RV and traveled around quite a bit, wife passed in 2021.

I overheard someone folks at Church talking about age (they were in their 70's) and they decided you are not really old until you hit 90 so that gives me 3 more years to be young.
I'm 87 and can't wait to try out my new stump grinder.

Congratulations on your new milestone, stay healthy and best of luck

Good advice. My "problem" is I have way too many interests.
Same here, sort of. I had such a long "to do" list when I retired, I STILL haven't caught up. Still working on projects around the property, etc., and haven't even started on any actual "hobby" type activities.

12 years into retirement here. Other than RMDs, I have not had to touch savings yet, though I am taking stock dividends now instead of reinvesting. The wife and I both have small pensions, so SS, pensions, and dividends cover our expenses. I figure a decade before I have to start paying for yard work, elder care, and housemaid. The heat bill will go up when I get too old to cut and split firewood. Both of our parents lived into their 90s, so the money may need to stretch another 20 years.

If like me other projects will occupy your time and within 8 - 10 months you will wonder how you had time to work.
That's similar to what my father in-law said. He did a lot of volunteer work taking people to the VA and such. But he also took up golf and fishing with his brother in-law and friends. Lived to 93.

I pulled the plug back in May. Took me about 6 weeks to stop thinking about work. I am about ready to get a little more serious about finding a retirement gig to supplement my annuity. It's sure been easier to keep up with the mowing this summer - LOL.
