I will be gentle with the X 500 for now.

I Get it... you sound just like me, except when I talk about the expletive Honda 4518 Hydro mower.

Sometimes it is luck of the draw. I really can't get as mad at used equipment when problems show up, never really know for sure what they have been through before you buy them.

Now if I paid full price for something brand new and it ends up breaking the bank and constant trouble I get pretty irritated.

This applies to a New HP printer copier I just purchased, less than 50 pages printed 4 ink cartridges and an unclearable fault which even the HP boards only answer is send it in for repair.

That sucks about the printer. And yeah i did buy it brand new. I should have said that before. Im glad you will be easy on it. They need it. There not like the old 200 and 300 series of the 80s and 90s.

The eaton 11 light duty hydro in the mtd is more similar to the bdu10L. Both the eaton 11 and bdu10L are much better for pulling or doing strenuous loads than the k72. Its a good thing you have a tractor thats just for heavy jobs.

But the Deck has had it
My first zero turn was a 48" Ransomes Walkbehind. The Deck had all sorts of cracks in it from the stress of mowing for years and years.
I drilled a hole at the end of each crack a 1/4" hole did the job but you had to be sure you had the end of the crack.

You can magnaflux it yourself with a strong magnet and some iron filings or grinding swarf.

I planned on welding them up but the welder came into my life long, long after I sold the mower.

Yeah unfortunately the problems with the deck are shaft, pulley, gear problems, stripped timing belt and other mechanical issues.
If it was a welding problem I could probably take care of it.
