Thanks to all of you for your helpful information as I shopped for a tractor. As a novice tractor owner I was lucky to find you all. Thank you.

My local dealer (4 miles away) did not give me my best original quote but was willing to match the best offer I got.
In addition they brought the tractor out for me to try on my fields and hills before making I made my decision. I will always deal locally when I can, but I will not blindly spend more to do so. Even though I got my best deal close to home I ran across several good and helpful dealers who I will not hesitate to recommend to others in the future. While I did not end up buying there, I had a great experience with Frederick Equipment Co. in Frederick MD.
Now I will drive you folks up the wall with use and care questions. :)

Thanks again!

It is the Kubota B2410 HST 4WD equipped with a Kubota 60" MMM and the LA352FL.

I will add either a Woods RB72 or Woods RB60 once I can decide which is the appropriate size for the tractor. One dealer told me he felt the 72" rear blade was a bit too big for the 2410 and suggested I go with the 60".

Oddly enough I went shopping for a B7500, then just about convinced myself that the BX2200 would be all I needed, then finally decided the B2410 was more suitable... I think I shopped too long! :)

Roy,
Congrats on your purchase it is a great tractor. Concerning your blade question, I have a B7500 and have a Woods RB60. Kubota recommends that size for yours also.
Enjoy!! /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Rhallva,
Congratulations on the new tractor. I have a B21, which is about the same size as your 2410, and use a 6’ rear blade. Mostly just to clean ditches as I find the 5’ boxblade works better for me on the roads. A couple of observations that I have about rear blades. When you angle a 5’ blade will it still cover your tire tracks? If snow were your use I would think this would be important. (No snow down here in Georgia) Keep in mind that the wider the blade, the more leverage it can exert on your 3pt components if you hook an immovable object on the end. I have broken a stabilizer turnbuckle doing this several times. Also, will your 3pt lift high enough to tilt the blade on level ground? With the amount of tilt my 6' blade has it just clears on level ground. Just a few things to think about.

Congrats Roy on your new Kubota. The B2410 is a very capable tractor. You should update your profile so we can all keep tabs on your goodies! /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif What kind of tires did you end up getting??

As far as the blade goes I have a 5' blade on my 2410. I think that is just the right size. I have used it for landscaping and snow removal. I'm pretty sure I would not trade up to a 6' blade. Having said that, I would certainly trade up to a heavier duty blade. If you can afford it, be sure to get a blade that is heavy, tilts, and if possible can be offset. I would love the offset feature during the winter to assist with the snow removal. The 5' blade does cover my tire tracks plus some, but it would sure be nice to have an extra foot or so to push the snow further into the ditch area. Weight of the blade is essential!!!

Congrats again.

In response to your blade choice, I had a 7500 and used a rb1572 blade with no problem. I know use the same blade on my 2710 and I primarily use it for snow removal and it works great.

I have been using a 6' KingKutter blade behind my B2410 to push snow. Unfortunately we're having a typical lame CT winter and I've only plowed with it 3 (or 4?) times. I got the 6' because I plan on using it mostly for snow, and because I have a retaining wall that I need to get up close to. Also, the tractor (with turfs) is nearly 5' wide, so once the blade is angled then your tracks aren't quite covered. If you're planning on mostly grading and your soil is rocky, then I'd get the 5'. If you're mostly moving snow, I'd get the 6'.

congrats on the new tractor. WHEN DO U GET IT? i have a 2400, and it came with a 6'ft rear blade, i don't seem to have any problem.whichever size u decide on, make sure u get a heavy one. light duty blades will not last with any amt. of use.
