As the climate changes, some things will vanish, some will flourish. Eventually something will wipe out the human race, be it virus, bacteria, each other, comet, etc... but until then, it would be nice to have a clean place to live while we're here.

We have had really smokey skies for the past 10 days or so but then today it cleared up and was beautiful but hot then this afternoon another fire started on Camp Pendleton which is our neighbor to the West and we have smoke again. As often as they have fires on the base it would seem like there wouldn't be anything left to burn but obviously there is.

Well, the 1/2in accumulation of rain didn't come today as predicted. Been 99% humidity pretty much all day but only 0.01in on the rain gauge. Oh well, it is sacrilegious to be rooting for rain around here anyway.

. Forecast is dry until at least the middle of next week and even at that not a whole lot of precipitation is predicted.

Septembers are typically extremely pleasant here. Always thought school shouldn't start until October and and end first of July (summer here starts July 5th!). Too bad we can't see the sun and take a deep breath without hacking.
