Westendorf FEL

My 1900 has a westendorf QA loader on it. I want to unhook the loader but am not sure what supports it when unhooked. I don't have any manuals on it and don't know if i have all the parts. If anyone has any information it would be greatly appriciated. Buy the way I called westendorf 3 times and still haven' got a reply. Also do I need to conect the tractor hyd. hoses together after I unhook it.

Look to see if you may have some stands stored inside the loader arms. Mine has them mounted on the arms with a pin lock to hold them up, but many are right inside the arms.

I would start with the front crossmember in the search.

You would put those stands on, lower the bucket to the ground, remove the pins at the back on the loader mounts and use the hydraulics to manuever it off. Make sure you're putting it down on a good level surface.

Move the tractor back a bit, maybe to the end of the hose run, and turn it off. Carefully move the joystick around to relieve the pressure so that you can disconnect the hoses. If you don't reduce the pressure in advance, you'll have a terrible time reconnecting the hoses.

I just went out and looked everywhere they they might hide them with no luck. Mine is a TA111. Could you give me a description of what yours look like so I could fab some. Where the lift cyl. attaches to the loader lift arm on both sides there is 1"pin that sticks out about 3/4". I am assuming this is where the stands go.

The Ford loader on my 2120 requires the bucket to be fully "uncurled", or dumped. That's what "supports" the removed loader - the wear edge of the bucket. There are no legs or stands. The fact that the bucket cylinders won't extend any further is what keeps the loader arms somewhere near the mounting height while it sits there. I guess it's balanced ok, but I imagine propping the main frame up so it didn't fall.
I've never wanted to remove mine, so this is just from the manual. I do know you remove the mechanical connections before you remove the hoses, only disconnecting hydraulics after you're backed out from under the loader.

I am pretty sure it needs stands. I unhooked everything but the hyd. today and put a set of jackstands under it . I backed away from the loader and it wouldn't stand buy itself. I didn't try tipping the bucket all the way. I think the loader was built in the mid 80's.
