wanted to see if the kioti would pull a full load on the obnoxious ice we have here now. so here is a picture of the tractor and load at home just before cutting and splitting the nice dead standing firewood.

Woodmills1,

Nice looking tractor. Saw my first Kioti at the county fair after I bought my JD. If I'm ever in the market again, I'll look at these more seriously.

30 horse 4x4, 2800 rpm, differential lock engaged. it climbed up the hill out of the woods into the orchard and came all the way home. maybe this post should be on the why fwd thread. without the chains it wouldnt even have gone out let alone come home. but the 4x4 let the little tractor act much bigger. check out the big white oak. standing dead at like 20 inch dbh. correct notch and backcut but it would not fall. needed to whinch it over. god i love this tractor/loader.

Real nice looking rig - and functional too. I wonder if you could use the transporter arm for building stone walls? We still have ice on many of the trees but down in the valley it looks pretty clear. 'Been real tough to take a walk without crampons though.

Does your loader arm run off the tractor hydraulics, or does it have it's own gas engine/hydraulic power plant?

the loader runs off of the power beyond valve on the tractor. there is a good article in this months sawmill and woodlot magazine about using a forwarder in the woods and about how much power is needed.

That sure is a fine looking set-up Woody. What's the capacity of the loader? Is it a custom model or something commercially available? I've never seen anything like that. Impressive /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
