Woody -- Thanks. I use a Mini-Ligno meter to check MC. I've heard from a couple of others that a light planing is a good idea. I'll try that after the next hurricane topples a few trees for me!
Right now I'm running the 10 footers one at a time thru the drum sander to get one good reference surface so I can use the planer on the other side. The 6" jointer that looked so big in the store looks sort of puny next to those stacks of lumber! Someone told me the planer would work if I take tiny bites, but I think the rollers would prevent the waviness from being planed out.
