Whack!! Right in the face!!

I was driving my new TC30 today through an orchard. I never saw it coming, then "WHACK a branch hit me right in the face (cheek). Turns out the branch was on the ground and got flipped up when the tractor ran over it. I got a minor scrape and a little blood. If it had been over about and inch it would have got me in the eye.

Well, unless you wear prescription glasses (and even they should be the safety type lenses), maybe you ought to start using safety glasses or goggles...along with the hearing protection. (Shooter's glasses would work...)

Even with prescription glasses, clip on side shields would be advisable.

I wear glasses but I don't think working on a lawn would be too bad. Clearing brush is another matter. I've only bush hogged a couple times, but the first time, I wish I'd had the hard hat with face shield. Those tall vines were nasty! I did have the side shields, leather work gloves and a canvas jacket (Carhart...they're pretty heavy canvas). Kept me from getting one heck of a lot of thorns and such.
