He has an issue with his tractor, why all this other banter?

I would think that once these initial issues are resolved you will have many years of good service. Lots of Mahindra owners out there that like their machines. Not an owner of one myself, but they are poular. You'll need to say after the dealer it sounds like.

I agree, people post about how great their tractors are even some are first posts but when it's something bad people get called out??? That makes no sense. The guy is having some issues with his tractor, if someone knows a good Mahindra contact let him know maybe it will help him out. I read up on Mahindra's before I just settled on the LS( the dealer carried both). It seems like this might be an isolated issue, the service does suck if that's what you're going through. As someone who orders from Asia a lot for my business, I'm guessing the reason it's taking so long by air is they are waiting(or waited) for a large bulk order before they send it. You can get stuff in 2-4 days from China with just standard DHL shipping. If they haven't sent it yet maybe talk to them about getting it sent by DHL or UPS individually if it's not to big and maybe even chip in to pay for it if you need it asap.

I'm not sure why I would want to hear about someone's "please read" troubles. Crap happens, and it's often a $3 rubber part that causes the issue.

Get on with it, no one is shooting at you.
This right here isn't helping. As I just stated if you can read the good, then you can read the bad. Or if you don't want to read someone's "pleased read" troubles then don't click on the thread and post about it, just move on.

They won't replace the $3 part, they will ONLY warranty a new hydrostatic unit. They said the pump is NOT serviceable.

My experience with Lemon Law is it rarely apply to commercial users...

I have no idea if this is applies in your State or not.

Often arrangements can be made for a loaner/replacement once everyone is involved.

Consumer warranties are automatically extended for the time a unit was out of service for a warranted repair... not that provides much comfort.

If you cannot achieve a satisfactory resolution the courts may be able to help but the cost and time involved dissuade many even if the amount comes under small claims.

It is a tough situation for sure... a new unit down for an indeterminate period of time without a loaner would get my interest as a California Lemon Law Arbitrator of consumer marketplace disputes.

We have the right to free speech. We don't have the right to impugn someone's character.

Example:
Joe joins TBN and his first ever post is "Bob's tractor dealership sold me a piece of $%^# tractor and won't fix it under warranty."

Then a bunch of TBN members pile on Bob's tractor dealership. Bob is a snake! Pitchforks and torches!!!! We'll never buy anything from Bob, that piece of #$%^!!!

Then Bob the tractor dealer joins TBN and says... "Hi. This is Bob from Bob's tractor. Here's all of Joe's paperwork and photos of the bent parts and bark from the tree he straddled while lifting a boulder 10X the spec'd capacity of the loader."

Then Bob's lawyer sends Joe a big can of lawsuit.

Then Joe sends the TBN mods a note asking that all of his posts be removed...

Then TBN members cry censorship and ask what happened to Joe's thread about Bob the $%^&!!!???

The mods shake their heads. :confused3:

Now, getting back to the original topic of this thread.... I hope he gets his parts and satisfaction on the tractor. Sounds like the dealer is trying best he can.

That is a perfect depiction of what goes on here far too often.

I would like to thank the OP for taking the time to post this situation here.

Sites like this are where we can find out about systemic problems with a particular manufacturer. I have no dog in this fight, as I have never been on a Mahindra. Plenty of people here seem to like theirs, but as with many things in life, we learn the most when things go wrong.

International logistics are non-trivial - plenty of historical military examples of how critical moving materiel is.

Any part is built somewhere on the planet. All it really takes is someone with the right level of authority to get it pulled off a line, and thrown on a plane. Many modern corporations aren't very agile, so these simple steps often don't get executed. I'm hoping OPs situation will be an exception.

As long as the story is accurately presented (I have no reason to suspect otherwise), there may be some value to supplying Mahindra corporate with this thread link. At the very least, they could stroke the dealer a cheque for reduced value on a loaner tractor for OP.

Deeds speak. I haven't checked lately, but one of CATs claims to fame was that they would supply parts anywhere on the planet in 48 hours. You pay a price for that level of service, but as OP is struggling with, there is also a price for not having that level of corporate performance.

Sincerely wishing you good luck.

Rgds, D.

Just so everyone knows we do have a loaner machine, we put it in our original contract that if something like this were to happen we would have a loaner. (This is not the first time something like this has happens to us, although not from Mahindra)

Our dealer has been a Mahindra dealer for less than a year. It's a small shop with only 2 service/everything guys and 2 mechanics. Our tractor was the first Mahindra they have split.

Mahindra has put our dealer in a very, very tight spot. They don't return calls to the dealer and they can't get a tracking number. The dealer support is horrible. I can hear it in the dealers voice every time I call, he sounds like he wants to stick his head under a rock.

^^^ CAT treated me like I was there only customer and I owned a used Dozer from the 70's...

I snagged a hose and called to see if they had one in stock... they said no but would have it in 30 minutes and then asked if I was on a job because they would deliver at no charge within 2 hours... how they can do this on a $50 hose is beyond me.

If you hang around TBN long enough, you get to see the worm turn, as they say. A while back there was a lengthy, serious thread about just the opposite point of view: readers should only pay attention to the gripe threads, because all the "I love my tractor" stories were posted by fanboys who were blind to the faults of their favorite brands.

I always figured if someone has a problem with their equipment, dealer or manufacturer, asking for advice here was totally fair. But if the goal is mainly to vindictively "warn others" or to blow off steam about an allegedly defective product, sleazy dealer or inferior manufacturer, that gets into some dangerous territory and not the smartest thing to do.

Just so I'm clear, this is not what I'm trying to do. I will not name my dealer. And honestly the 2538 seems like a great machine, but the way we and my dealer have been treated by Mahindra is in-excusable.
