^^^ CAT treated me like I was there only customer and I owned a used Dozer from the 70's...

I snagged a hose and called to see if they had one in stock... they said no but would have it in 30 minutes and then asked if I was on a job because they would deliver at no charge within 2 hours... how they can do this on a $50 hose is beyond me.

They can't, without losing money, which makes the service even more impressive. Long-term payoff is brand trust and loyalty. Which is a good thing, since I have a lot of their stock. :)

It seems odd to me that you cant get parts fast in NEPA being right there in Bloomsburg we have the main assembly of their imports.

If you ever had a million + dollar job where you are forced to keep a tight timeline you would understand why they are so good with their parts. When an interstate or bridge or a dam isn't done on time the cost to the construction company is huge. The loss of use of equipment isn't a viable excuse and the company you choose needs to stand behind their product like this or they wont be getting your next purchase and that kind of money talks volumes in the industry.

First welcome to TBN. This may sound like a dumb question, but has the dealer offered a loaner? How about robbing the part from another tractor? I get a lot of wear parts from my local Kubota dealer (knives, pins etc as they are close and good quality) While there to get a PTO shaft fabled up (bent old one) a man was at the parts counter with a busted PTO output shaft. None in stock, so parts man went out and pulled one off of the new line. I asked how often they do that and he said all the time to keep folks in business. They also will work out a loaner depending on the situation. If I ever wear out my Bobcat I know where to go now.

I'd also like to welcome IH782. Like him, I'm relatively new to TBN. Thanks for letting us know this manufactures response to your tractors part failure.

Yep, all true. I'm sure Ultrarunner knows it, too. I think his point was that they did the same for little ol' him, likely on a small job with an old, used dozer. That's what made me smile, too.

Worlds # 1 selling tractor, with no parts available... I'm with the OP, inexcusable. Run that loaner like a rented mule.

I am in agreement with powerscol.
Can they borrow unit off another tractor.
My dealer has done it for me, Deere

He has an issue with his tractor, why all this other banter?<snip>
Reads to me like he has an issue with Mahindra spare part supply.

I'm not sure why I would want to hear about someone's "please read" troubles. Crap happens, and it's often a $3 rubber part that causes the issue.

Get on with it, no one is shooting at you.
And you didn't have to read the thread, much less reply.

I would like to thank the OP for taking the time to post this situation here.

Sites like this are where we can find out about systemic problems with a particular manufacturer. I have no dog in this fight, as I have never been on a Mahindra. Plenty of people here seem to like theirs, but as with many things in life, we learn the most when things go wrong.

International logistics are non-trivial - plenty of historical military examples of how critical moving materiel is.

Any part is built somewhere on the planet. All it really takes is someone with the right level of authority to get it pulled off a line, and thrown on a plane. Many modern corporations aren't very agile, so these simple steps often don't get executed. I'm hoping OPs situation will be an exception.

As long as the story is accurately presented (I have no reason to suspect otherwise), there may be some value to supplying Mahindra corporate with this thread link. At the very least, they could stroke the dealer a cheque for reduced value on a loaner tractor for OP.

Deeds speak. I haven't checked lately, but one of CATs claims to fame was that they would supply parts anywhere on the planet in 48 hours. You pay a price for that level of service, but as OP is struggling with, there is also a price for not having that level of corporate performance.

Sincerely wishing you good luck.

Rgds, D.
Well written.

I'm always in the market for things. To find out a manufacturer cannot supply spare parts is important to me, especially if the spare is REQUIRED for the equipment to be operational.

We all make tradeoffs to keep our perceived costs low, threads like this are good data points.

Just so I'm clear, this is not what I'm trying to do. I will not name my dealer. And honestly the 2538 seems like a great machine, but the way we and my dealer have been treated by Mahindra is in-excusable.

Keep us posted and good luck.

/edit - and OP - it's Kubota, not Kabota.
