Thanks for the suggestion. I had a quick look around the internet for Sunnen hone rental in Oregon, but I'm not finding much. Looks like I'll be making a few calls to machine and engine rebuild shops. Just for clarification, why not the 3-stone hone? Something catch your eye from the pics?

Valves and seats will need to be ground not just lapped. One little pit will allow leakage, a hot valve, and a burnt valve failure. Put the valves on the wire wheel before taking them to the machine shop.

A plain 3 stone hone will not straighten up the cylinder wall.
