What are these? Badges?

If you would like, take some pics of the Clemson "badges" and I'll hit up my old timer friends on Tigernet and see what they are. If you are interested in selling the Clemson ones I would like to buy them.

I have 173 of the Clemson medallions. They are not mint condition.
110 are in very good condition and only would require a 10 second shining on a cloth, and 63 of them are tarnished a little and require a little more cleaning & polishing.
I would like to sell all of them together.

My grandfather had a handful of similar medals from events like conventions. As a kid I thought they were coins.
A web search just now, using the terms "souvenir: medals, badges, tokens or whatever I could think of" has lead me to believe that people will sell mementos of any event where they think they can make a profit. I wouldn't be surprised if they sold them at public hangings.

I suspect you are close on this; although they may not have been sold. I know the Elks Lodge has similar mementos that they give away at conventions and other events; and I have been invited to make presentations at several state colleges in which I was presented with something similar.

I was given the task of cleaning out a barn for the son of a deceased farmer. He had collected a lot over the years. We worked out a deal where I sell everything, he gives me a small cut of the sale proceeds and I get to use the barn for tractor storage. He also gave me a lot of the smaller items.

I was Supervising Attorney for the DEQ Air Quality Division, and had the honor of drafting significant legislation for the EPA Title V program for the state. I was asked to participate in several legal seminars and speak at a couple of college Environmental Science classes.

I have seen something similar on a pawn show, tokens were used at mining camps in lieu of money, you could only use the tokens at the mine store.. I guess the company saved money that way..

Best guess it seems the Clemson ones are Calhoun Honors College medallions. Maybe used on their sash at graduation? I can't for the life of me figure why someone would have so many of them.
