What can you tell from serial number? Transmission?

Can you decode the serial number to determine year and transmission?


I see a tractor for auction sale but don't see info on transmission.

Its a 5320 tractor do any of the other numbers reference the transmission or other build options?

Is the serial number coded, sequential, or other?

Any JD dealer can and will do that for you...They can provide the selling dealer location, DOM, any warranty/service history (if performed at a dealer of course)

Tractor should be the basic sync shuttle trans.

The dealer can run the serial number. From it he can tell you the build options, If it was dealership rental, what service has been done at a JD dealer and hours at service. The selling Dealer and date. Do to privacy issues he will not tell you the owner, but could confirm if one owner, if you know the current owner's name.

I think "T" is collar shift, "S" synco, "P" or "R" reverser, "H" Reverser w'hi-lo.
