What country would you live in if you could?

I've been in almost every state except for about 4. Been in just about every province in Canada as well.
My wife has been around the world twice. She has lived in the middle east (Dubai) for 10 years.
We both agree the best place to live is East Texas....and we're there now.
We absolutely live it. Can grow anything. Living is cheap. People are really friendly. The red necks around here keep life interesting.
Just LOVE it here.

Wherever you live and decided to move to another country, what other country might you consider?

Myself, I have always been mesmerized by New Zealand even though I have never been there. The pictures I have seen are spectacular. I have also heard that countries like Yugoslavia are incredible, something that I never would have considered.
I've been to a lot of places between the service and vacationing...love the Caymans, but, I think it would have to be some place where I can keep posession of my beloved second amendment right...when the "fit hits the shan" I would like the comfort of knowing I can protect my family. Self preservation means a lot!

If we don't get rid of the goofs running this state, I just may be saying "Howdy Neighbor":)

... get rid of the goofs running this state, ... :)

Nope, never will happen. There are just to many of them. I left your find state in '76. I have memories, both fond and not so fond, of that big camp next to you.

We have been lucky enough to do a lot of international traveling and I have to say that the best part of travel is coming back to the United States. There are many great countries with even a larger number of fantastic people, but I haven't found any place that provides the freedoms we have enjoyed for more than 200 years right here. I'll venture into dangerous territory and simply say that I hope that doesn't change in the near future.

If I had to leave this country there would be quite a few places that might might make me happy. For scenery you can't beat Norway or New Zealand. Have been to both of them and the people are even greater than the scenery. In an earlier post, someone mentioned that if you travel to Australia and New Zealand you should go to Australia first - I agree, but found the Australians to be great people as well. There is a lot more available land (if you like desert in Australia)

Tahiti is quite a paradise but I don't think I would like the constant perfect weather - yes I really do love the change of seasons and that includes winter.

Germany is almost a second home to me and we could be very happy there.

Someone mentioned moving to Cuba where they have great health care and strong leadership. Aren't we overlooking Venezuela where they have vast oil reserves, great health care, a lot of land and a strong leader?

I like to offer my in-laws from the Bay Area tours of Pendleton, as it's now an open base. I tell them its just like any other small city, it has gas`stations, a fire dept,McDonald's etc etc. And I tell them the residents are just like anybody else, except for the fact that they could smoke you in about 2 seconds, if they wanted to.
I don't understand why they don't want to see it????
