Hawk -- The gear vs hydro debacle started off with much more innocuous comments. I own a Kubota, but can imagine how a Kioti driver could get pretty fired up by his description of them.

I think it's possible to praise one brand without denigrating others.

Great point, Pete. I can't say enough good things about my Kubota, but if I ever replace it, I would seriously consider orange, green, and blue.
My girlfriend's mother knows I'm a tractor guy, so last Christmas I received a sweatshirt embrodiered with about a thousand (so it seemed) John Deere tractors, signs, etc.. Needless to say, it inspired a few laughs around the Christmas tree when my girlfriend pointed out that my tractor was a Kubota. No matter, it is beeter to be known as a tractor guy than not, and the sweatshirt is one of my favorites (even though it clashes with the orange paint!!

While my daughter was looking at new Nike sneakers, I see the old canvas Converse "Chuck Taylor" black and white hi-top sneaks (that I have but she says aren't cool and are for geeks). Well, now they're offered in a Kubota orange and black to complete your atractorin' ensemble. I was real tempted to get 'em.

/w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gifLet me start by saying that I was not taking you to task on this, if you took it that way I'm sorry. What I was trying to do was encourage this guy to state his opinion as he sees it. I agree that things can get fired up for almost no reason at all. And while this frequently astounds me, I still have to take the position that folks should speak their mind. If we all start second guessing ourselves, to please some mythical unknown reader, I think it diminishes the range and honesty of opinion on TBN.

I actually had some guy attack me because of my signature. While I did appologize to him for causing him discomfort, I have not changed the signature. I try to be curtious and helpful in most everything I write, but on occasion, I polk fun at something as well. If that offends someone, I will appologize for the offense because it was not my intention, but the opinion stands.

Now I know people can speak their mind and still be a little careful about offending people. But the fact is, if you read a lot of posts here (as I know you do) if you look hard enough, almost all of them could be interpreted as offensive to somebody.

Again, I am sorry if this view upsets anyone.

So that's my story and I'm sticking to it./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

In this case though, it seemed to me that the response was in the spirit of the original post, and IMHO, was not really out of line.

Thanks! for all the support I am new to this and do not in any way want to tarnish or scar the reputation of this wonderful site I have read several responses to other sites, and I would be remiss to say that some were quite interesting, never the less I do enjoy EVERYONES comments thats what makes us who we are, but for the record as the gentleman pointed out in his reply to mine. I think it is a great marketing scheme for Kioti to paint there machines orange, I just wonder why they did not choose blue or green, there is no patent on those colors
I rest my case.
Keep the comments coming and i currently have 12 hours on my new L3010 today I got a new GB72 woods box blade and a Landpride 6' Rake
