On a positive note I got a year older!:drink:::cool2:::drink:

Nothing spectacular, but I cleaned the driveway of snow for another year, and moved about three dozen loads of gravel, rock, and dirt. 1 load= 1 ton= 200 shovels of gravel. LOL Pulled down two trees roots and all. Moved some fireood, and drug some logs around.

In 2013 I vinyl sided my two story farm house pretty much by my self.
completely redid the driveway
planted 315 baby trees
Build the foundation for my garage i'll build this year
cleaned up 10 large dead trees and burnt them.
man i need a nap just thinking about all of that.

I became a dad on November 5th!!!!!

Also, we sold our house and became debt-free, saved up for a 50% down payment on the land we are going to build our home on. Cleared a spot to build a home and we are now saving for a 20% down payment on a custom home! Feels good to finally be smart with our money, even though I must say we have had an absolute blast the last few years. Live and learn.

I sold the house that my wife and I had spent 5 years rehabbing. Sold so fast I now live in Mom and Dads house which is weird but good.

Our little family started work on the new house on 6 acres. Maybe Ill get a post started on that one some time. So far it has been a lot of paperwork and legal crud.

On the tractor side, Dad and I trenched in 780' of future electrical conduit for the homesite. I had never used a backhoe before and its done, or atleast that run is in. We will see when the power company finally pulls the wire if its done... Stared work on what I hope will be the driveway by the end of the week. Sucks working a full time job when there is so much fun work to be done.

Lots of small projects but added several more

Did get the garden shed almost complete.

Crazy busy whirlwind year. What I remember:
Went snowboarding 4-6 weekends,
Felled, cut, split, hauled, stacked 4 cords of fire wood,
Spent 11-12 weeks in China on 4 trips,
Cleared trees, rootballs and all, leveled area for 48'x 36' horsebarn/storage shed.
Had horsebarn/storage shed built.
Put in pasture culvert.
Cleared for and built pasture fence.
Felled, limbed, cut, hauled 28 cords of pine logs.
Went to 2 Phish concerts.
Flew to North Carolina for long weekend of riding rented Harley around Blue Ridge and Smokey Mtns. The Dragon.
+ full time job.

1. Added 10 more 250w solar panels to my system, now up to 11kw.

2. Got a 6' tall post, board and 2"x4" wire fence built around one of my garden spaces ( anti-deer fencing)

3. Got 6,000bdft of lumber logged and sawed out (Woodmizer) for a neighbor's new barn.

4. Got a 20x36 hoop house built to extend our growing season couple months on either side of January.....including the block retainer walls to go with it. (White oak hoops)

5. Got 4 cords of wood cut and split for the winter of 2014-15.

6. Got the barn loft stocked with 2 years worth of square bales ( about 800 ).

7. Put 4 deer in canning jars.

Sounds like a fun year. I only went to one show last year. That was Tab Benoit. Back in the day, I went to my share of Dead shows. Would love to catch Further or Ratdog before all the guys die on us. Bobbie is 66, Bill is 67, Mickey is 70 and Phil is 73. Who would have thought with all their hard living they would still be on the road at their age.

Did a couple of things, such as:

Turned a hill leading from the hay barn to the goat barn into stairs.


We built a covered feeder for the goats.


Changed a old piece of junk into a usable trailer.


Built a goat handler from scratch.


And, a few other things that I don't have any pictures to show proof.

Oops, forgot this one. Built and sold another round hay bale feeder.


A good year.

Have any more pics and info on that? I'm looking to build a greenhouse in the near future and have never seen the hoops made that way, but I like the idea.

finished the FEL for the old estate garden tractor

then dug up the neighbor's septic line to his tank ( 75 ' away from his house ) and ripped out the tree roots,with the Backhoe

best thing this year ? got sick of having the boss demand I use my tools/equipment to do his jobs, finally told him what to do.... :dance1:
then started my own company .... now I make the money
now he has to buy his own machinery, tools and look for someone to do the work.... :thumbsup:
