If she knew you wrote that here…shed clobber you with bidet seatWe bought Mrs.tiller a 17" tall commode and a seat with a bidet.
The mech max stump grinder I bought a few months ago had a very similar incident hooking up the PTO shaft overlooked the bolts also had to cut about 2" off the PTO shaft it was to close for me being comfortable pressing the shaft to close to rear rear axle when lifting grinder especially using a rear hydraulic top link . Bought mine in the more appropriate orange color lol. I've used it a bit taking out Xmas tree stumps works great much better than accidentally hitting the stumps with my rotary cutter when cutting the overgrown Xmas tree rows plus it scloser to to the back of tractor than a 5' bush hog making it very maneuverable and no collateral damage to trees in getting in the actual rows, And much quicker than using my minix to pull out the stumps. Plus no hauling and looking for disposal means torching isn't the best neither is constantly piling them up in property line with excavated stumps. Took awhile using my gear drive l2850 to get somewhat competent using it. No rear camera and I can say hydrostatic drive would help. I could have spent quite a bit more and got the hydraulic cylinder on the grinder that moves it left right but then id either have to disconnect my rear hydraulic top link which I use to help with efficiency of using it, or buy a 4 port splitter to continue use both on the single rear remote. I'll definitely be using it with my hydrostatic tiny tractor taking out a few stumps up north. Definitely pleased with this mech max brand purchase at the price point, results, and so far problem free use.I used the MechMaxx today and it works great. They did leave one step out of instruction manual though. Installation is straightforward and I feel stupid in hindsight.
Thankfully I didn't have to cut the PTO shaft because it was a perfect fit. The included shaft has a slip clutch end that goes to stump grinder side. The tractor side was easy, simply line splines up and it has a spring loaded locking button that locks onto the detent groove. The clutch side I tried everything...it wouldn't go all the way on. I finally got a file thinking there must be a burr or something. That's when I noticed it was shipped with two bolts in it. Remove bolts, slide on, bolts back and tighten them.
There are two locking pins you remove and it allows grinder to "float". You start on right side of stump facing the back and I took it easy about 2"/pass. It digs 6" max so last pass was digging lots of dirt.
I'd highly recommend it for the money. I'll be glad when my camera comes because my neck sure is sore! View attachment 4265184View attachment 4265185View attachment 4265188
