Any dangerous tree work I hire a guy who lives a few miles away who has lots of equipment. The chipper will handle large trees and he has a bucket crane like this. It's not worth me saving $400-$500 plus I get a large pile of wood chips.View attachment 4279196

I do the same. Had a HUGE old elm taken out a couple of years ago, four large stems, 75 feet high. They used a bucket truck and had the whole thing down and hauled off in 2.5 hours. I'd still be working on it if I tried to do it myself.... Defintely have to pick your battles.

Finally broke down and bought a metric and sae helicoil kit off Amazon only after I couldn't find 6mm with a odd .75 pitch at various hardware and auto supply stores, actually had to buy the 6mm .75 pitch helicoil kit separately. Surprisingly both sae and metric kits plus.75 kit were less expensive than my old 8mm helicoil kit I bought awhile back locally. But when your screwing around with what my state considers vintage snowmobiles and parts are hard to find kind of forcing you to fix broken parts under normal circumstances you would just replace it's worth it to me anyway. Waiting on my free delivery next week cuz I'm to cheap to buy prime or pay for shipping.

I keep about 20 cases stocked in case of a hurricane. I haven't bought any in years. One of the places I go to to pick up loads of water figures it is cheaper when a bottle in a pallet starts leaking, to just donate it to the drivers picking up loads. When I go there, I typically grab between 2 and 10 cases. All of my neighbors like to see me come home with bottled water stacked up in the passenger seat of my truck!

Maybe not a cat 3+, but we need a good tropical storm or depression inland. We are well short of average rain falls this year.

I will keep my eye out for a good tropical storm moving off the coast at about 3 to 5 mph. That would do us both some good!

Sandman, don't let that water get too old. It will taste like plastic and I suspect full of microplastics. I heard a report that most of us have a teaspoon full of microplastics in our brains. Some of these plastics we thought were our friends, are not.

I agree Steve, we don,t keep bottled water around over a year old.
