A while back I bought a Jackery 300w power station with 100w solar panel on an Amazon deal. Been using it up north and have been pretty impressed.

Did a test to see if it would run the diesel heater I bought recently. Was surprised At the results. I ran it for an hour on low and it was still at 90% charge. Heater ran between 9 and 12 watts. View attachment 4416635

So I just ordered one another one with a bit more power because it was on sale..
Amazon.com

Anker SOLIX C800 Portable Power Station

So I’ll use one for the heater and the other one for phones or whatever. Next time I head up I’ll install the heater. Was a bit chilly a few weeks back.

My Inverter generator is nice and pretty quiet, but the constant wind up when a 1500w electric heater kicks on makes it hard to sleep.
I would have ordered one on Amazon, but I need it Monday and the earliest delivery date I could find was Wednesday. Home depot had this one in stock.

Mine was supposed to be here last Friday, but got moved to the 20th. Forgot to check where it ships from which was from Anker. I typically only order stuff that ships from Amazon directly for this reason, better customer support. That being said I think you’re going to be happy with your purchase. These things are super handy. Batteries have really come a long way. I run a 32 inch tv off my little 300w and really like how quiet they are.

I'm expecting that when the people at the Hilton find out what I'm doing, they will not be happy and will probably tell me I can't use this power supply and will have to buy the electricity from them. If that happens, I will probably pack my stuff and leave.

About 10 years ago, I moved into my new tin shed and I swore I would NOT buy a second set of tools. I will simply walk the 65 feet to the heated garage where all my tools are to get what I need.

Guess what.
One by one I have bought duplicates of quite a few of the tools in the garage. In another 10 years I might have a full set out there.
Over the years I've acquired quite the extensive collection of mostly quality tools at the cabin I built over 500 miles from my house. Have a decent minimal set in my 3/4 tons tool box and a more extensive set in my class c. Usually one repair I make pays for new tools I buy. Definitely I admit to being a tool junky. It's definitely nice to have a decent concrete slab to roll a smaller tool cart on with what I consider essential tools to repair older mechanical things , which I'm filling with existing tools from my 56" tool chest.

Even working in the same place, you typically need two set of wrenches. One for holding the locking nut and another to loosen/tighten the fastening nut. This occurs all the time with hydraulics and control cables. All my boxes (eight) have some duplicate tools. Seven of them are in the barn at various work areas. I've set them up for specialty work with a roll around as the mechanics box.

You can never have too many tools. I still have my first tool box and tools I bought in 1968. I was 18 and had a Montgomery Ward credit card. My first card. :giggle:

What does one need a gas-powered sawzall for exactly? I find my battery powered one to be powerful/violent enough!

Traded the wife's 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander Platinum for a 2024 4Runner Limited this past Wednesday. The GH had some shortcomings for us, one being the fact that it couldn't tow anything with the new 4 cylinder power-plant that Toyota offers in that platform. The 4Runner is much better for our needs. 2024 was the last year to get the 4.0 liter V6, which gives us a 5000# towing capacity. The 2025 4Runner still has a 5000# towing capacity, but it's only with the high output iMax 4 cylinder. In my eyes, that 4 cylinder has to work harder to do the same work. Only time will tell.
