What did you do on or to your LS Tractor today?

Someone was inquiring about how I mounted the ammo boxes to the ROPS. I had a couple of brackets left over from a Jeep bumper that were mirror image of each other. I used the LS U bolts from the cup holder (they put it on with two... way overkill) so used one on each side. Nothing has moved or loosened over the past 8 months, so I think they are good to go. Here are a few pics of the mounts.

My neighbor mounted his with winch mounting brackets he got at HF for around $5 each

OK, so you did a T, I did an L, somebody else did twin Is, I think I saw one C layout (or was it a U?) .... we'll have the whole alphabet before long.

I was going to try an A .... that way works forward or backwards....

Spent the morning unsticking the clutch on my rotary mower-not a fun job as the previous owner had neglected the slip clutch and it was pretty well welded together-after loosening the bolts and a liberal application of PB blaster combined with a bit of whackage I managed to get it to slip. Retorqued to specified gap and am ready to mow!!

Finally got my canopy mounted.
Hooked up flail mower and mowed a bit.

Got my flail mowing up to date. 199.0 on the hour meter.

Used it as a lift to work on two finish mowers (other thread). 230 or so on the clock. Will be getting filters from my dealer this week for the next change.

Conflict in Service Intervals.

Maintenance Chart in Owner's Manual shows replacing the air filter at 250 hours, but the text pages don't mention that until 500 hours. 50 and 250 just say check and clean. Planning on picking one up just to have on hand.

Also, I can't remember which frickin' engine oil I used on this beast last time. Need to look that up again.

Last thought, noticed some 'wet' dirt around the left front axle, like oil/grease wet. Need to look into that more in the next day or so.

Sooo, anything to be concerned about? Left Front only. Nothing similar on the right side.

How many hours are on it? My dealer in Spokane ( Cascade tractor) told me to change the oil in my front axle at 50 hours even though the service manual States otherwise. He said during the first 50 hours there’s a lot of metal shavings that can cut the seal if it’s not changed. Personally I would be concerned as it’s probably only going to get worse.

Did you have it parked on a slope towards that side? I had parked my 125 on a slope for a couple of days and had a similar “ wetness “. I cleaned it up reall good and kept a watch on it. No other leaking occurred, so I attributed the initial leaking to all the axle oil pooling over to the downhill side.
