I heard a big crash, and when went outside, I noticed a pile of wood fell over. I was actually relieved, since I immediately thought my removed FEL had toppled instead.
The wood is ash, and is in a stand such that one end of the sticks are three inches away from a block retaining wall, but the other ends are completely exposed. It appears that even that difference in air flow was enough to make the exposed end dry quicker, leaving the wetter ends a larger diameter, causing the pile to topple.
I am on a drug that requires me to avoid the sun, and can cause tendons to rupture in some cases, so I got out briefly, stack a little, come in and make indoor progress, and repeat in a rotation. It's pretty hot out, so it may be the smarter thing even minus the antibiotics.
