I started bush hogging my untouched 2.5 acres. We have 2.5 cleared and pretty much all set and now thanks to my new tractor I can start clearing the back acreage. Started at 6AM and quit at 11AM when temperatures hit 95.

Bush hogging brush, trees etc; day five with no real end in sight.

And all I did was mow, edge, and trim my city yard (and the one next door). And it's been so danged hot and dry that all the leaves are falling early, so I used the bagger on the mower.:( Sure wish it would rain.

I went back to work.

It doesn't sound that great, but it was better than yesterday where I got bad news from the doctors, and better than the day before yesterday where I got home to find my door busted down and the house robbed. So I am happy to be at work because it is more normal than the previous two days. It was tough this morning when I had to tell others the news, but things will start to look up now, and if not, there will be other normal days surely. And if that is not even true, and it may not be, there will be a new normal. But abrupt and harsh days all stacked up are the real enemy because they can just knock you down and stomp on you. Here's to just a normal day. We need to appreciate those more because they are the real stuff of life.

Sorry that things have been difficult. You're right though, we never appreciate the "normal" days until things really get out of hand. We should all just stop and give thanks for another day each and every day.

Someone on the TBN wrote in another thread something to the effect of:

"you never know when the trap-door of life will open so it's best to treat every day as your last".

Pretty good words to live by.
