What do you do with unused/partial cans of oil?

Using it for bar and chain oil for the chain saw comes to mind. At least for the 30 weight on up

I've also heard of people adding a little STP to old or used oil for chainsaw bar oil.
But back to the original question. In my area, I can take any oil to my local town highway department to be used in their used oil furnace. Also, in my state, any outlet that sells oil is obligated to take in a certain amount of old oil for recycling.

Like so any other postings, I take partial containers and drain them in to a gallon oil jug. Then the oil is use around the barn and house for small jobs. I have never used this mixed oil in any of my equipment because of the mixture of weights and some contain synthetics. However tools, hinges, electric motors, and air compressors all get this clean oil mixture.

Mix it with diesel & burn it in my old diesel (78 & 94) motors, same as used motor oil.

One of my old neighbours gave me a whole whack of opened oil when he moved away. It had been sitting in milk crates outside behind his shed, most of the labels are gone and who knows how tight a seal they have. I use it as chain saw bar oil, a little on the snow blower chain, and the rest gets mixed with diesel for lube on the band sawmill.

I just pour all that stuff in my fuel tank on 12 valve cummins. It will run on anything.

Well, I have heard it best to keep log chains oiled. But I can't imagine then using them when necessary. So I keep mine on the tractor hanging inside PVC tubes where I can readily use them.

Okay, I know I am straying from the topic, but I keep looking at these tubes and wondering how one could make a beverage cooler/dispenser out of them? Nothing like looking back at what you did all day, sitting on the tractor with a nice ice cold one in your hand....
