we just got one and failed terribly, that being said, how do you folks determine when food is done since you can't see and or take a temperature, my unit spends more time pressurising and depressuring then actually cooking?
Depending if the contents are cold and the quantity will determine the time to reach the timing countdown pressure.
To depressure just flip the vent it usually takes only a minute (60 full seconds).
Depending on what you are cooking if it's not on the preset buttons the time and pressure can be adjusted - you cook by time and pressure not visual and temperature. What were you cooking in the Instant Pot that "failed terribly"? How long did you cook it and did you adjust the pressure?
We're going to have to try one out . . . only problem wife is not to keen on it . . . :confused3:
I. Successfully heated water in mine today.
Wife is still Leary of it.
