What do you pay for diesel?

And that's about 30% cheaper than the road diesel I have to fill my car with. I dare not total up my monthly diesel bill for fear of a heart attack!

And I grumble about our current diesel prices. I am sure glad we don't have your across the pond prices' for fuel.

Even some vehicles here avoid it. The European haulage companies now fit massive long range tanks on their trucks so they don't refuel at all when in the UK, which means UK based firms struggle to compete.

Over here, because the price difference between red and normal is massive, big organised crime are involved shipping, removing the dye and distributing red. The consequences of getting caught are correspondingly harsh. Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs take a very dim view of anyone depriving the Queen of her hard earned income.

haha!!! now thats hillarious!

There's the channel tunnel. Drive your car, truck or whatever onto the train and 25mins later you are in France. Or there are many ferry crossing. Thousands of vehicles every day.

I do it a couple of times a year.

Yes, the "Chunnel" opened in mid 1990's. Easier now to take the Eurostar train, London to Paris in 2 1/2 hours and no transition from driving on left to driving on right.

Lived in London in early 1970's and took the ferry from Dover to Calais and back a couple of times a month for meetings in Paris and Montrouge. Wish they had Eurostar trains back then.
