I went to the local Kubota dealer today and test drive several models and really like the Kubota tractors. I sat down with the sales guy got this recommendation and price quote.

L3130 HST 4WD R4 tires $18140
LA 723 Loader $ 3543
LA 2213A control Valve $ 646
L2240 72 HD Loader Bracket $ 963
Cutting Edge $ 209
L2238 Fork Frame $ 621
Pallet Fork Kit $ 362
Gearmore 72" Manuel Box Scrapper $1035

Total: $25,926 - 10% discount = $23,333 plus sales tax

Is this a reasonable deal? I read many posts here mentioned much better discount than 10%. I thought I could get a decent tractor for around $20k. This is a lot more than I'm willing to spend. The sale guys said this is his bottom price not a penny less.

I'll use the tractor primary for road maintenance with the box scrapper. The loader and pallet fork will be useful for moving stuff and general use around the ranch. I have 120acres mostly hilly terrain so I won't be doing any mowing.

Thanks for your help.

There is a dealership that posts MSRP of Kubota tractors, loaders, etc on his web site. You can find it HERE I'm not sure if the prices are all accurate and up-to-date, but I see the tractor price listed matches what you're dealer showed you. You might check it out.
As for discounts, they do vary alot in different parts of the country. Around here, about 12-13% off retail seems to be the norm. About 400 miles south of here, you can get more like 15-16% off.

Welcome to CA. 10% is a good deal here. You will go crazy trying to com pair prices here on TBN. Kubota regional pricing and strong demand in this sunny state keep the price up. buying in OR or NV might get you an extra 5%.

Good Luck!

First off...if the salesman says this is it...he's lieing to you!!

second..you state what your usage will be...then why not trim off some of the shopping list?
whats the LA2213 control valve for? The loader should complete wiht its own control valve..so why a second??
Loader bracket??
cutting edge? I know what they are used for...but still??
Pallet fork and loader bracket? Maybe get by with bolt on/strapon loader forks to do the same sort of work...LOTS cheaper for sure.
Over $1000 for a manual box blade is highway robbery. A 6 ft King Kutter ( may not be as good a brand..??...but I mean GEEZE?) can be got for $450! LOTS of difference.

Start whitteling down the list and get the tractor..with FEL priced out and you'll see him start changing his tune when he thinks the total TAB isnt going to be so high.. And when he FINALLY DOES come up with a new "out the door price"...then drop the bomb on himand tell him to cut it back a "tad more" ( anything is better than nothing)

These sales people arent your "best friend"...they make THEIR money by taking YOUR money away from you!!
