What do you wish you had from the day your tractor arrived?

Looking back and thinking about my first tractor purchase this is what I would want if young and doing it again. Understand however this list will grow extensively if I were to list what I would want on a new purchase today. Attachments are not something I normally would consider with the tractor purchase unless a backhoe, front mount snow blower or mid mount mower. If getting any of them get with the tractor if at all possible.

4x4 with a diff lock
Rear remotes set of 3 is best
3rd function for grapple
Extendable links
Work lights forward and reverse on the ROPS
Quick attach bucket removeable loader
Subframe attaching backhoe with minimum mechanical thumb.
Must be able to mount or dismount easy from both sides.
Turning brakes on opposite side of go pedals
A very comfortable seat with arm rests and decent suspension
A flat drivers station floor
Low mounted fuel tank that is easy to fill
Never thought about this one before but I would have to agree with the grab handle on both fenders also

A chipper that blows the chips out a chute instead of dropping the on the ground below. I fixed that a few years later by replacing it.

Other than that, not a thing. Twenty-plus years later mine's still fine as purchased.

Backhoe. It would not be needed very often, and there are scenarios where it wouldn't fit in a tight space, but I have been in so many situations where it would have saved my back that it would be worth it.

As I get older, I see myself getting a backhoe and also a dump trailer. There will come a day when manual labor is not as feasible so I will need tools like that to keep going and stay productive.

I held off on a post hole digger for 7 years. In that time I kept digging more and more post holes and kept lamenting the lack of a PHD. Finally bought one last summer when I realized I'd need to place 15+ posts for an upcoming pole barn project. I used it in December to drill 4 holes for an addition to my old barn, and it was awesome. I bought a 12" auger and it cut so easily I am now wondering if a 16" auger would be possible.

Extendable end links;I have them on my Grand L but can be added to the L3901.Real back savers.

Yes, nybirdman - extendable end links. I didn't realize how helpful they were. They came standard on my Kubota. Gives an all new meaning to the phrase - "close is good enough".

Pallet forks, grapple, and camera. All added within 6 months of purchase because I could buy them less expensively on line than through my dealer.

I am making do with an old beat up grader blade and landscape rake I had with the JD855. Too light and narrow for the LS but better than nothing.

Three point quick hitch. Took a 20 min back breaking job of booking up the tiller or bush hog into a 5 minute job I can do even when my back is out. They are $100 at harbor freight. Hands down best money I spent on the tractor for odds and ends for it.

Implements - depends on the jobs you need done.

Pallet forks and block heater. I've had some little jobs for the pallet forks that I could of used the pallet forks for but managed to ratchet strap stuff to my bucket but I've got a job to return to in the spring moving some rocks for a lady . I almost could of done it before the snow fell but the cold temperatures froze the rocks to the ground so I couldn't pop them up with my bucket. My friend invented a new type of 3-point quick hitch that should be on the market in the next few months that for un-powered implements like box blades, discs, and cultivators won't require having to get off the tractor seat or out of the cab. Stay tuned!

I wish I had known of the benefits of "Top And Tilt" for the 3ph. Also, if I had stepped up to the next larger engine in the series I could have gotten a more powerful FEL.

A quick hitch can be life changing as well as back saving.
