What does gas (diesel) cost where you live?

I saw this article in the news this morning, and thought "Haw! If anything the price of gas is going UP, not down!". So I though I would post it and see what others in the TBN universe are seeing. Kind of an official, unofficial poll.

Here in Sunny Silly-con valley we are now paying upward of $1.899 per gallon for regular (self serve). Diesel is running about $1.999. I realize not everybody on TBN is in the US, but give it your best shot. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

*** Gasoline prices dip another penny

CAMARILLO, Calif. (AP) - Gasoline prices dipped a penny a gallon at the pump in the past two weeks, continuing a trend that began in January, an industry analyst said Sunday. The average price of gasoline was about $1.47 a gallon, down a cent from March 9, according to the Lundberg Survey of 8,000 stations nationwide.

Prices have fallen more than 5 cents per gallon since Jan. 15 as the winter season reduced driving and gasoline demand. Demand is expected to rise starting next month, as the nation enters the peak summer driving season, analyst Trilby Lundberg said. Supply is also shrinking, as the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries agreed to cut oil production by 1 million barrels a day. However, "neither of these two factors are sufficient to predict major gasoline price increases," Lundberg said.

I buy off road #2 diesel for $1.00 a gallon here in Ark reg gas 137 at Wal-Mart.

Surprised at the differences. Here in SE Michigan, best I seen today was $1.32 for unleaded and $1.29 for diesel.

When are you folks in Ca going to throw your politicians and enviro-****'s out on their arse. $2 a gallon for diesel--wow!

So far this month, I've paid a low of $1.229 (Sam's Club) to a high of $1.309 for gasoline. Diesel about a nickle higher, but I only buy it by the barrel at the distributor and haven't bought any yet this year.

Hey, out here in Californy we are privileged to pay high prices for gasoline, diesel, natural gas, electricity (when we can get it), as well as housing, food, underwear, etc.

Yea and in St. Louis it is $1.25 a gallon for diesel. How does diesel go up .30 in less than a two mile stretch? Are there that many more taxes in IL than MO? In Iowa right now at Flying J on I-80 is the cheapest at $1.29 for OTR fuel.

We ought to fill in the others on a couple of "special" items here Harv. The "rest" of the state of California is pretty close to the "rest" of the country. However, the area around the San Francisco Bay Area is somewhat weird. Seems "what the traffic will bear" is quite a bit higher than elsewhere.

Also, the quote I gave for diesel was double-special. One it was for "road diesel" (multiple road taxes included), plus it was in Saratoga, where the median house price is around $1,250,000.

I have the unfortunate priviledge of having to drive through Saratoga on my way home /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif. If I don't plan ahead, I also get the priviledge of paying through the nose.

Just the same, up the street in San Jose, the prices for gas are only about 7 or 8 cents cheaper. Rotten Robbie sells for about 20 cents less than Saratoga's Union 76.
